Hey Children! Welcome to the humble abode of the not-so-humble people of 13A-land. We hope you have a good time here, and that you do not spew your coffee / milo / water all over the keyboard while viewing. Have fun!

Juyuan - To Anybody Concerned

Just writing this blog entry to apologise to the class today for my abnormal behaviors both yesterday and todae. I've been such an insensitive jerk, ignoring almost everybody who attempted to speak or converse with me, and giving everybody a cold shoulder.

But yet my behavior was erratic, with me being gloomy and stone one moment, and cheery and smiley the next. That was just me, trying to make myself look and feel as happy as i possibly can. Obviously it didnt quite work as well as i hoped, hence my majority gloomy-mood.

To anybody concerned/worried/scared/irritated/annoyed/puzzled/confused/non-chalant, well, i'm feeling better now. Much better. I feel so happy.

As if.

I'm still feeling horrible actually, but i promise that it wont show anymore. I'll just keep it all to myself and feel horrible only when nobody is around. So if u ever see me appearing moddy/gloomy around me, just give me a slap across the face or something. =)

Thnks.

Visit my blog if anybody wishes to know what horrible things happened to me today.
INCLUDING the reason why i was moody and all.

Shu Ting-Chingay: The Parade of Dreams

Chingay's certainly an experience! Honestly, before this year, i've not been to a single chingay parade before (i've not even watdched it on TV!). Always got it mixed up with the river HOng BAo (or something like that).

About 1/3 or more of our class signed up as volunteers to do float-waving.. A brainless job actually. Dione and i were really lucky to be on this gorgeous float with huge flowers, rainbow masks and flashing bulbs. It was sponsored by CosmoProv and was called some Paradise thing.. I was a purple orchid and Dione was some butterfly monster. Yea MONSTER coz her head-gear was something like those the power rangers wore, just that it had bright yellow feelers sticking out from it.

So basically we WAVED, smiled like crazy cheshire cats till we had facial cramps and danced from Orchard (wheelock place) to Chinatown and then to Kallang. (on the float of course) The floats bobbed along at snail's pace at Orchard. It was terrible!!! Coz we had to wave enthusiastically like idiots to a whole street of staring people and flashing cameras. It stopped every 200m or so for closer scrutiny of the crowd. The worst part was that not many people waved back! We could only rely on those toddlers, screaming kids and hyper crowd motivators for some "waving amusement". I dared Didi to blow a flying kiss to any police officer on duty (for a free drink!) but they were either all avoiding eye-contact on purpose, too busy with security, or just weren't interested in the floats (what some may call "professional"?!). But there was this bunch of policemen at the CK Tangs junction who were really friendly and a Sikh officer even asked Dione to "fly". haha yea right.

So soon enough, we managed to pass (and hopefully entertain) the crowds. Those floats are really hot to stand in coz the huge generators are just below where we stand with air vents blowing hot air at us. So to avoid the extreme heat, we had to try and lean outwards to catch the occasional breeze.Speaking of breeze, my orchid hat almost got blown away a couple of times. how embarrassing!!

There were 5 of us on our float. J1s: Didi, I. J2s:Ming Shen, Uni, Sarah. The J2s said that they spotted alot of RJ folks among the crowd at Orchard.. REALLY? I couldn't recognise a single person! No fun!

haha oh wells, my Chingay journey ends here with lots of random thoughts. Would I go back again next year for more waving and pretty costumes? Yea, why not? It was really fun while it lasted. The great company helped! Thanks guys for making it so enjoyable!

Oh by the way, Didi had some pretty scary/nasty/flattering experiences at Chingay.. go ask her about it. *Tsk*

Juyuan - Chingay Mania

I guess out of the rest of the many pple in my class who took part in Chingay, my part to play must have been the most strenous, tiring, "psychomotoric", yet fun and lively performance, becos of the fact that i do not smply stand on freaking-floats-that-nearly-made-me-trip-and-fall, and just wave my hands =)

Before Chingay had actually begun, our group were happily stoning around our area along the road, eating our take-away food, and cooking ourselves in our costume. Needless to say, with my big appetite, i happily ate 2 packets of rice without fail, only to realise its fatal consequences later on. The float after ours had a female belly dancer on it, and damn was she good. Despite looking/being 40+ years of age, she was unexpectedly flexible and could move her entire body in flawless waves, as tho she didnt have any bones at all. The RJC and RGS gerz, being mesmerized by such skill, decided to take some lessons from the belly-lady, and so, then all crowded around the float as the belly-lady taught them some basics to belly dancing. Even Matin showed e girls what he's got.

Anyway, my dance item was the one combined wif RGS, entitled INFUSION or something along that line. During the 1st performance, i was, expectedly, quite nervous and the adrenaline in me was just pump pump pumping like mad. As the music began with a sinister laugh, our whole group stampeded forwards into our formation, and began the 1st set of moves. This part of the dance was highly successful, but what happened after that was a catastrophobic disaster! As the que came for us to change the formation, i had to be the 1st to run quickly to e back of the float, but my run was hindered bcos of the Sarong-like costume i had to wear. Suddenly, i tripped over my own costume and plunged forwards, landing face-flat on the concrete road. As if on que, the other people behind me came falling down on me, one after the other, as tho this was the oh-so-popular "tau-poking" game. As though that wasnt painful enough, the oncoming float came driving over us, turning everyone into bloody delicious pan-cakes.

Yeah Right.

Non of those non-sensical ramblings occured, except e fact that i realli ALMOST tripped. haha. And I kinda kept screwing up at the 2nd half of the dance, no idea why, but ya, kinda screwed up some steps.

The pair (Weijie and Desmond) just beside me, were caught on camera UP CLOSE, and was on TV. haha. My partner, Shawn, and I, were at the tip of the Triangle Formation, and facing the back, so i guess nobody would bother to catch us on TV or still-Cameras.

After performing 4 times, running, and a whole hell-lot-of screaming and shouting, we were finally done, and undoubtedly starving. So we (around 8 pple) went down to NYDC and had supper, and even drank some alchohol, courtesy of the fact that Hide was already officially 18. haha.

Oh well, fatigue is starting to dawn upon me, so i shall stop with my non-sensical ramblings and head on to bed.

All Chingay involve-ees, it would be good if u guys/gers could share ur experiences too!

Nitez everyone!
*huGgLEz*
LoL!
